The story around this song is quite funny. Some day we visited our
cousin and sat together in his room. We listened to music and
somehow we came across Twist and Shout. The remaining evening
we bawled this song and we had got an earworm for about 2 weeks. J
We still remembered the song for a very long time, and when it came to chosing songs for our concert, we instinctively had Twist and Shout in our minds. That's how it happened.
As you will read on the page Twist and Shout Songinfo, John Lennon was quite sick and totally hoarse when he recorded that song. Afterwards his voice was ruined. We can very much understand how he must have felt then. We both got ill the week prior to the concert and barely managed to be in voice the relevant evening. Just shortly before the performance we decided that Mona should take on the lead-vocals as otherwise I (Lisa) wouldn't have been able to sing the second part of the concert. Therefore Mona is our John Lennon :)
