| Klaus Goehr, our school's drum teacher. |
He originally comes from Carinthia (the most southern state of Austria). But he is well known beyond the Austrian borders. For many years he has been playing with various nationally and internationally known musicians - and still does.
Stefan Pelzl’s JUJU Band for example, who he is playing with, is said to be one of the most creative Austrian jazz ensembles. Toghether with our parents we have already been at "jazz land" to listen to their music. Unfortunately the drummers always sit in the back row and thus he was covered by the other musicians most of the time. But we could definitely hear him - no wonder that he is that highly esteemed!
In addition to that he is a tutor at the Viennese University for Music and Performing Arts. Thank God he has also some time left to teach us at the Polgarstreet Highschool.

Final School Concert 2008
he studied "Mystic" with us, one of his originals that we worked on in

What we love about
Klaus Goehr:
His compositions and arrangements and especially his ability to meld so
many pupils (beginners and advanced) to one harmonic group.
Dear Mr. Goehr,
You have been teaching us the 4th year now. And still you don't run out of ideas what we could play in the lessons and for the various events. You are a real cool teacher and a dynamite drummer! We are very happy that you further us and our schoolfellows that much. Your way of teaching is great - many of your self-invented funny texts have already helped us to learn a rhythm way faster. We think it's cool that you put together such great ensembles for school concerts. E. g. the Samba with a whole stage full of kids from various ages and training levels, each of them playing a different percussion instrument. And also the DVD project was lots of fun - and we still sing the Birthday Rap of Polgar Highschool from time to time - great lyrics! We thank you very much for your high dedication and all the funny hours ... thanks :))
