20th Jubilee of Orth Music School

Friday, 15  June 2007

At that time we took some singing lessons from Elisabeth Herscht and we had just started to study a body percussion piece, when we were asked to perform at the jubilee celebration of "20 Years of the Orth Music School".

All our music teachers of the Orth Music School accompanied us singing the song Sunny.

With Elisabeth we decided to sing the song "Sunny".  We were accompanied by our teachers Willi Wenzel on the saxophone, Erwin Kuchynka on the e-guitar and Michael Draskovits on the drums. Elisabeth played the piano.

With our guitear teacher Erwin we agreed on playing Wild World (the link gets you to the audio sample of the MonaLisa & Band-Version). Further we also took part in the "children's symphony" which was accompanied by the drum ensemble.

As we had to sing more songs with different ensembles we had to attend various rehearsals. The celebration itself took place in the ballroom of the newly renovated national park-castle of Orth (at the river Danube). All the music school students had come a bit earlier to rehearse one more time before the celebration started.

Wild World: In those days we didn't sing with headset-microphones yet.

Basically each of our performance was without mistake. But Wild World we played much too fast and then we couldn't manage the tempo anymore ;) At that time we weren't so fix in playing the guitar fills between the words yet. But the audience had fun and the rest was OK.

After the performance we chatted with the other kids and played on our guitars while our parents enjoyed the warm summer evening by sitting together with other guests in the palace courtyard.
