Hey Mona and Lisa,

when I found your song "Love is all around" on youtube, I was really blown away!! Your singing gave me goosebumps ;) Of course I also checked out your other videos and I really liked them very much. How do you manage to make such an awesome video??? And what I think is great as well is that you two keep together and do things together, because I've got a twin sister too and we do everything together as well!!! I’ve just got one more question. How old are you by the way? 13, right? Cos then you're my age!! :D

Be successful with your music,

Regards Caro (Germany)

E-Mail, 20 Jul 2009

Hey you two. I came across you both on youtube per accident. I have to say, your videos impress me a lot!! Then I thought it must be great to see you "live in action". So if you happen to play a concert in or near Vienna please let me know.

Good luck with your music! See you,

Johannes

I just want to say Thank you for the great music you are playing - music that touches hearts!!! When I first heard you I was deeply impressed by your music and especially by your awesome voices. They made me buy your CDs!!! And the CDs are just great!!! I'm looking forward to what we will get to hear from you in the future!

Best regards from Germany, Christoph

Always so much to fill in ^^ it's getting annoying :D:D:D ^^ umm… what was I gonna say… oh yeah right^^ I wanted to wish you all the best for your future and go in! I randomly found you on youtube when I wanted to listen to "California Dreamin". I got waaay too much horrible covers and then I found this video that said something about MonaLisaTwins… I thought I'm gonna see some of these goodlooking twins who can't sing at all … but after only 40 seconds I knew that I was completely wrong! I was fascinated and had to watch whatever else you’ve got. Then I found your website and thought: "Hey^^ I'll write these girls ^^" I'll certainly follow you and as soon as I've got more money I'll try to support you as much as possible!

Best Regards from the wonderful Eifel (Germany),

Hi girls,

my name is Mahailia i'm 18 and i live in Adelaide. Firstly i just want to say that i have seen you busking in rundle mall a few times and loved it. You are really talented!!!. How lucky you are to have musical partners in each other. I am a twin too but my sister listens to different styles of music than me. I sing and play guitar and have been in a duo band with my boyfriend for two years but you guys are way better :D. Also I am very happy to see that you use Maton guitars, they are awesome. Do you have any original songs? where are you from? are you with a record company? have you had anything played on the radio? Just thought i'd stop by and let you know that i really enjoy hearing you guys in the mall and watching your videos on youtube :D -

best wishes, Mahailia

You are both awesome! I first heard your "If You're Going to San Francisco" after I'd returned from a trip to San Francisco, and I think you really captured the feeling, you must feel it too! I watched your other 'live' concerts, they were great also... reminded me of some other songs, thought I'd suggest one you might try, for your repertoire - "Four Strong Winds" by Neil Young, it has a harmony part to it that you would, I think, do real justice.

In any event, congratulations on your past and future success (which is assured, if you so desire)and Happy birthday soon, also!

You two continue to astound me in every way (Do not take that lightly, kind of hard to explain but it's true . .), I'm sure if people knew of your talent at school you would most likely be praised like godesses, I feel lucky just to have met you, it's clear you two are stars in the making, no matter what obstacle may come up against you, please don't stop playing your beautiful music, you have talent that surpasses anything I have seen in the music industry. I look forward to your performance in drama. <('_'<) (>'_')> Kirby approves!

It seems your talent know no limits. Lots of luck with your music in the future.

You may say you don't want to be famous, and want to play music that touches the soul, but if you don't go public, many, many people will miss out, and will have the bad luck of not being graced by the sound of your voices and music.

Of course, the original song goes more slowly than yours, but you're right to play this song with a faster rhythm, it's more conform with your style.
And don't forget this Australian proverb :

Hi Ladies: I apologize that my ability to speak German does not exist. Someday I hope. I came accross your cover of "California Dreaming" on Youtube and after viewing that as well as the other 2 you made in California, I am an instant fan. Your voices and the way your harmonies come out are just wonderful! With great interest, I listened to your other footage (my 2 favorites are "Smoke on the Water" and "House of the rising sun") and have found each and every one of them amazing! ...

And before I forget, you father gets a big Thank you for his amazing editing skills, not to mention his mixing and playing skills! :-) From your Website, I read that you will be studying seperately in schools in Australia (if I remember correctly). I think that is a good thing and you will both benefit tremendously from it. When do you return back to Austria (and more importantly) THE STUDIO? :-

I will be eagerly awating on Youtube for any new or previously unposted songs. On the subject of songs, do any of you know any Pink Floyd songs? One that I think would be amazing to hear you sing is "Wish your were here" of the cd of the same name. It has wonderful guitar on it by David Gilmour and the song would sound wonderfully if sung by you.

I would gladly pay (via paypal) to support you doing that in the studio or just in a room somewhere. Also, I would love to hear you ladies play more Beatles songs. My requests would be the following ones in nor particular order and again, I might add, I would happily pay using paypal for a studio cd of these Beatles songs as well as "Wish you were here" and any other songs by Pink Floyd. 1) "Black Bird" 2) "I am the Walrus" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oPkytVdy5Us The link is to a video of Jim Carry singing "I am the Walrus" and he does a REAL good job at it. 3) "I've got a feeling" 4) "In my life" and any other Beatles songs from their later years ...

You ladies sound great! Keep at it! I remain a new fan here in the U.S.

**Rod**

P.S. If you come to the US and plan on a concert somewhere please let me know. It would be great to hear you ladies live ...

E-Mail, 11 May 2009

Hey you both. Some days ago I came across the performance of "Goodbye my lover" and clicked through all of your songs. I have to say that I find you really great. Especially because you play everything on your own and not just throwing in a CD. Would be great to hear again from you soon ... Keep on going ...

Much love from Germany, Alex(andra)

I grew up in the 60's in Iowa, USA. The Troggs were one of my favorite groups. You girls are so fortunate to have your dad, your grandparents and other family members helping you. They get an A+ first, because they recognized your talent. I just turned 60 on April 27, 2009 (just a tiny bit younger than your grandpa). If you are ever in the midwest, USA, give me a call or an email - we will all have the time of our lives.

Hi all together, I just happend to come across your videos on youtube. First I thought: Another one of those endless covers. When I was listening to it this changed fast into: At last some good covers! I'm really delighted that I could hear your music! I couldn't live without music as well. I'm playing Oboe in a classical orchestra, but I'm also writing songs. I just never had the chance to record or perform them somewhere. That's why I wondered if you probably would be interested in playing/singing one of my songs? It would be a great pleasure for me. I just would have to record the melodies or you simply could develop them on your own.

So if you are interested give me a call. That means if you have time at all as this will not be the only mail you receive. I'm really enthusiastic over you and your voices! I will never be able to forget them. So my biggest compliments! I wish you lots of success in the future!

Regards, Florentin

PS: Can your CDs be sent to Switzerland as well?

I was searching through old bands from the 60s and decided to find a song by The Troggs, "Love is all around", when I noticed your cover version. I thought it was lovely and charming, a very good job. I then watched several more of your clips on youtube and just wanted to say how much I enjoyed them. I will look forward to listening and watching more from you.

I like that one can listen to your songs in such long music clips. I have the feeling that you want to give something with your music and I find that it increases peoples' willingness to acknowledge your work also financially. I have bought a CD. All the ripping off (record labels take money where they can, users avoid paying wherever possible) is reduced to absurdity. I wish you good luck.

Hello you both,

I just happened to come across you on YouTube as I was looking for Wonderful tonight by Eric Clapton. I found it and so I did find your version too. In the meanwhile I have watched all of your videos about ten times and I can only say: You are doing it really, really, really well!!!!! When I'm looking at that we seem to have the same music taste which makes me wonder as you would consider me rather an old man. But why not - good music is loved by every generation.

At the moment I am waiting for your CD which I have just ordered so that I can listen to you without the computer too. If everything works out well I will take it with me on my US-Southwest trip in fall. It will perfectly fit. Okay, so I wish you lots of fun in Down Under and all the best!

Talk soon, Michael (Germany)

Hello !

I came across you on YouTube when I was searching for Eric Clapton's Wonderful Tonight song. I thought your version of the song was spot on and having listened to your tracks from your Album I very much like what I hear. In particular I thought the harmony at the beginning of Scott McKenzies San Francisco was very very good indeed and I also thought that your version of The Beatles I Will was excellent.

Have you ever considered recording any of Graham Nash's songs? In particular, Teach Your Children (You really need a trio for that I suppose) and Wasted On The Way? As I am sure these type of songs would suit you and you would perform them well. I grew up being a fan of The Hollies and have always admired their work, especially the talents of Graham Nash and Allan Clarke. Allan will always be my hero and although he has now retired from the group, I understand he has recorded some hits of his with the German Duo Et Cetera.

Anyway the above is just a thought and I hope you continue to make good music and if you keep on the way you are I can't see any reason why you shouldn't become household names in the years to come. Well done and good luck to you.

Regards, Derek (United Kingdom)

Hello to all Wagner family,

I have finally received the CD! Thank you very much! I got it today in my letterbox. (I did not think that Austria was so much far from France. 13 days, French and Austrian postal service had probably forgotten that we are in EU.) Fortunately I had seen last sunday new videoclips of MonaLisa which made me wait patiently. But writing an E-Mail (in English) is not so easy, especially when I'm listening music ... So I will try to tell you later what I think of your CD and your videos.

It is a thrill to hear a younger generation making Beatles tunes their own, without purely copying it. The lead singer's drumming and singing are very remarkable. Doing both well reminds me of Karen Carpenter, a pleasant memory. I especially liked the rhythm change at 0:44-- it's new and exciting, but still similar to the type of thing Ringo would do.

To me, this is a very entertaining and talented group of musicians. Thanks for the videos and the hard work rehearsing!!

Hey Ladies ... and I do mean Ladies

I stumbled on your site looking for the song "Love is All Around" by the Troggs and, my God, was I floored ... I've been playing guitar in the mountains of North Carolina for over 40 years and I've had the great honor of playing with some awesome people, but you two are the greatest I've ever heard. Your harmony, your style, and everything is so perfect. I played in a band with one of my daughters and I know what it's like to have a family band. But you guys have written a new book on family band. I am so blessed to have found your site and to hear such awesome music. You are the greatest in my book and always will be when it comes to great music. Keep up the good work and may God richly bless you and your parents.

Very nice! I can't wait to see/hear you play 10 to 15 years down the road. REMEMBER! You will always have music. No matter what happens to you in life. I pray that you do anyways. We need more female guitarist around. May the rainbows fore ever grace your travels.

Hey you both,
that I visit your site more often is because I consider you of high musical quality. I mean that I don't like all this gangster rap stuff. But I know many of your songs in the original version and therefore get an idea of your work. And what you are producing is a very descent performance.
When do you publish new songs? I want ballads ;-) that's what you are made for,
eg. "Stand up" and "The Commissioner" are songs that I don't consider the right genre for you, but more of rock stuff or ballads like by Eric Clapton.
But however "Hats off!"
Do you plan to come to West Germany? If so I will visit your concert.

Hi Mona!

It was such a pleasure meeting you and your sister, as well as your mother and father!

You girls are so very talented and I am so excited to see you both continue to grow as musicians; as things currently stand, I am already so impressed, so it's hard to imagine how amazing you and your sister will be in the near future! Keep working hard! You are going to change lives with your music; but you have to believe that in your hearts!

Thank you so much for listening to me play my music and for listening to my CD Mona! It means the world to me! I will be sure to keep in touch with you if you promise to do the same! OK?

Dream big and work hard at it, and anything you want to accomplish in your life will happen!

Hi, I discovered your site more by accident when I was searching the web for "The Commissioner". But ...

First of all a high commendation from my side. For your young age of 14 you are perfectly displaying your talent. I like your musical skills and your voices. Last year I sang the Bach Christmas Oratorio in a church with the school choir. But if I am a good singer is another matter ;).

And it's nice to see the family to be of the party.

I like the lyrics you cover, except (ehem ... "The Commissioner"). Nothing against you, but as Falco is my favourite singer and "The Commissioner" my song number 1, I prefer his voice. But I'm positively surprised by you singing Claptons "Tears in heaven". My father is a Clapton fan and I have also heard this piece live, but for a female version your singing impressed me.

I don't wish you success in the first place as one usually does. Like you, I think it's about having fun with music - in your case with playing music, in my case it's more listening to music, as I don't have time anymore to really start playing guitar.

So, keep it rolling,
have always fun and show courage
in everything you do
then success will follow anyhow  (Note: we just translated the poem which rhymes in German language)

If you like, write me back sometime. I will apply myself to Falco again.

Love and greetings from Cologne,

Marco (Germany)

Michaela, I "love" the newsletter. I am so pleased that the girls are doing so well and continuing with concerts and music. I do hope you sent a copy to John P. (Note: our American guitar teacher), as I am sure you did.

I am going to forward this to all the musicians on my list as well *).

I can hardly wait to have the family at "Sol Grill" and hear the new arrangements and songs from "Mona-Lisa".

Love you all.

Dusty (the open mike host of "Sol Grill", Newport Beach, L.A.)

*) And that's what he sent his musician friends:

"A couple of friends I think you might enjoy. They are Austrian, and will be playing at Sol Grill in July (the date is in the link on the USA concert #3 list). They are well worth seeing and hearing. Dusty"

It was very nice to receive this email and get to see you all in action. Bravo. Well done. Looking forward to you playing here on the 4th July. Would the girls be interested in playing the parade 4th morning? If so, I'll try to arrange it for you.

Let me know, as the band gets here today one last time. I think these girls have the upper hand on the boys. I like their style. The boys are much heavier rock and roll. But then again, they're boys.

It's a pleasure for me that such young people still have a sense for good music. Your choice of songs is top. Keep on going, I wish you all the best on your way!

Very good site. You probably could write, where one can directly get to the audio clips. I had to search a little.

Thank you for your suggestion and the thick praise! We just have put the audio clips directly on the homepage and soon will add a button "music clips" too. Then it should be no problem anymore to listen to our music even faster! Hope this helps ...

Hi Michaela, Hi Rudi!

I like the length of the girls' music/song clips that you posted on the website. Usually when people do that they just give 20 seconds or something, which seems too short. I can get a nice idea of what they sound like. Of course, I have the CD, but I mean for other people who check out the site, it's nice to get a good feel.

Much love ~ :) jOHn

Hi Mona, Hi Lisa!

I finally found the time to enjoy your website without hassle. I have to admit I am really impressed! There's so much to read and you spread such a bright feeling - I certainly will come back more often. We also found it very funny that we could read about ourselves!

Meanwhile you also have fans in Denmark. I borrowed your Live-CD to our boarding master A. When I came to school the next day I could hear your music running very loudly. He and the kids were totally into your songs. Of course, A. wants to meet you and asks when you'll play a concert up here in the north ...

I wish you lots of power for your next gigs and many nice greetings, also from M.

Hello Michaela, hello Rudi, hey MonaLisa!!!

... But now let's shift attention to your "new" challenge. S E N S A T I O N A L  !!!

Yesterday I was caught on your homepage for nearly two hours! And when M. came home, caught for another two hours. Hey, guys, perfect website with info and humor, facts spiked with funny stories. And in between some links to your fantastic songs and audio samples. Dead honest: POTENTIAL HITS!!

We only can congratulate you for making it to such a high musical quality level in that short time period!

... My daughter will soon celebrate her 12th birthday and is giving a girlie party for her friends. I would like to order a CD for her (unlimited enthusiasm!). So she would have a nice present and good music for partytime!

It would be important that the CD includes your version of Ain't no Sunshine. It's just about the limit! I am listening to it right now. And again, and again, ......

We would be glad to hear from you soon and we heartily wish you all the best for your musical future! We are curious about your next own compositions or in which way you will paraphrase famous hits into acoustic "tidbits" by your MonaLisa feeling!

KEEP IT UP!!!!

Love, the B. Family

Dear Lisa and Mona (alphabetical order)!

We already know each other for many years, nevertheless you never cease to surprise me. I know that you are sporty, that you are excellent musicians with composing and texting abilities, that you are great painters, ... - I know all that and it gives me much pleasure, particularly because it's not to the disadvantage of school success.

But when reading your homepage I was literally over the moon! Not only because of its size - better you have a day off for it - no, also contentwise it's smashing. It deeply impressed me how imaginatively you e.g. introduce your musical instruments and how lovingly you say thank you to your music teachers. Who would not instantly like to be your teacher?

I find it good that you don't shy away from candidly speaking about your feelings and stagefrights. And I was very imposed by your definite rejection of drugs! I could continue listing many other things that I like on your website: the clear structure (without bugging gimmicks), the good and extensive music glossary as well as the possibility to listen to your songs and to get background info. (I guess Michaela and Rudi are responsible for that - big compliment to them!)

Finally let me say the perhaps most important thing: Feel embraced for confessing yourself to your family and for finding it "cool" to work together and also to reap your common success - top-notch!

Dear Lisa, dear Mona, you are two adorable girls with big hearts, emotion and intellect. I wish you and your parents a wonderful future!

Your biggest fan

Dear MonaLisa & Band!

Eventually it happened. For a long time I was clicking your homepage, but it always said ... coming soon. And today - finally! I am sitting for hours now and keep on wondering. Great what you make out of your life. I can understand how important music can be. I myself started to learn the e-bass with 38 years. I was a very good pupil with teacher, musical scales up and down with all the frills. Today I play with my friends together in a band and spend every weekend at the rehearsal room. However I wish you all the very best, work on your career, have fun with music and stay the way you are.

Best wishes, D., M. and E.

Dear Mona, dear Lisa!

I congratulate you on your successful website! It got very informative, zappy and funny!!! It seems that you had a lot of work to do with it, right? I find it sooooo, sooooo cute of you that you mention me as a teacher, even with picture and text - I really appreciate that very much. Our time together at Orth/Danube Music School was short, but a very happy one for me. And I never had two such dedicated, young singing pupils like you. Well done for still doing the drills!

I wish you all the best and hope that we'll meet again in the near future! Please, send my best regards to your parents! It is great how much they support you. I am sure, that it will bear fruit (it basically does already)!

Dear MonaLisa and Band,

... However, while sitting at the "Corny Café", I told my fellow in detail who and what "MonaLisa and Band" is. It's self-evident that I tried to paint my ever-lasting, surprising, amazing and (please don't be upset) unexspected positive impressions of this first public performance of "MonaLisa and Band" in the brightest coulours, with nearly euphoric excitement ...

To cut a long story short - may be that's another typical female characteristic - Madame wanted some "proofs" which I am very ready to give her. But not in the form of my hitherto single, regularly purchased CD. No, I won't give her. And pirate copying? Just "burning" it? Even if my CD-burner would work ... never ever, not in your case ... In case of BMG, I'm not sure, I think I wouldn't have much scruple, but surely not with you.

In the meantime my friend F. offered me to purchase two of your first CDs which I gladly accept.

I'm sure, no, I know that it wasn't, that it isn't the end of "MonaLisa and Band". That's just the beginning. And for your "second"? Please, admit me into your subscription list just now. Unseen, unheard. I hope I will see those days.

Yours, H. S.

Dear Wagner family,

We want to say thank you again for the invitation to your concert. It was a unique experience and the amazement upon the perfectness was huge. One would never expect that you play the instruments just for that short time period. You really projected the joy of making music to the audience, the moderation with background information on songs and composers was a great idea and very nicely presented - compliments to your father (in law).

It was an entirely well organized concert (incl. buffet, programs, glowsticks, picture board). It was definitely worth your effort.

The song repertory fully met our taste, we have at least one LP (these black discs) of each composer in our box. It's hard for us to express our enthusiasm in words. Therefore just thank you again and a big compliment!

Best regards,
R. W. and R.

Dear MonaLisa and Band!

It was fascinating and hard to express in words what you four young people have mounted. The very first impression was already overwhelming - the design of the stage and the hall, incl. the presentation of such small things like glowsticks and programs. It was also very surprising which delicacies your buffet offered and especially pleasant: there were no alcoholic beverages necessary!

And even the music! Unbelievable what quality level you could provide after such a short period of learning. Your song repertory offered something for any age-group and taste. Accordingly the atmosphere was great, especially the second evening.

The only point of criticism from our viewpoint (as elderly people) was the volume, particularely at the first concert. The second evening was a bit better, but still quite heavy. But that was about it!

By taking your music to heart one can hardly believe that Mona and Lisa are two 13 year old girls! One who cannot enjoy that can't be helped. We would be very astonished if those two evenings would not show (after-)effects.

Again many thanks to all of you and a special congratulation to Mona and Lisa - they will still bring you (and hopefully us too) lots of joy in the future!

P. I. and F.

Dear Michaela, dear Rudi,

thanks again for this enchanting concert evening. It is very touching how well Mona and Lisa developed musically and it was great for me (us) to see how much you support that, what you guys also create for yourself. The concert really was wonderful, beautiful, touching ...!!! I take my hat off to you for playing saxophone that well in a few months, for playing bass (cool piece, by the way) and all the other instruments ....
The sound was great, the voices came perfectly, not only from the sound but also intonationwise, the choir and so ..... Yes, and the moderation was perfect too! Very well done by your father! Congratulations!

Very well done!!! It was a wonderful evening which I will keep in my mind for a very long time, M. (my wife) is also totally enthusiastic about you.

All the best and a nice remaining Sunday.

E-Mail, 02 Oct 2007, 7:25 pm

Dear Michaela,

Our return journey passed off easily and we also got the "first schoolday" over and done well. It was the usual swarming, but it was a different feeling to approach it with recharged batteries.

Even if we only spent 5 days with you, we absolutely enjoyed being carried by the aesthetic wave of your music. M. (note: the son) mentioned again and again that he would have preferred to stay longer, and when the air plane landed at Hamburg (note: Germany) he found that Vienna was 500 times nicer - and that means a lot.

I hope it wasn't too much stress with concert and our visit. How are you doing? Are you back rehearsing?

All the best for you and Rudi and Mona and Lisa,
W. and M.
