Instrumental line-up of the MonaLisa-Version

This song is simply great. When it was broadcasted by the radio stations we thought: Finally something different within this same old stuff!

First we didn't plan to take it up in our repertory. But then one day a girl friend visited us and we played I wish I was a punkrocker in the studio, just for fun. We had just swooped for any of those percussion instruments and split up the lyrics. At the end we showed it our dad and he liked it somehow so that we decided to take it in our concert program.

The speciality of this song is that it does not need any melody-intstrument, the accompaniment is just done by rhythm-instruments. As much more it is important that the singer and the percussionists are good. What one does not recognize by listening but definitely while singing: The song is quite fast and the lyrics and the correct accentuation of the syllables must fit.

I (Lisa) had a tough time with it with a certain part of the song: It was the word "revolution" :). I had to listen to the playback many, many times and had to drill this single part till I managed to break of my falsly studied version - because we wanted to sing the songs as original as possible. That was rather tricky but now I know it. And with the good accompaniment of our band it was just cool to sing the song.
